Here's where we feature video clips of rcbike.com motorcycles. The first four video clips were shot with a Canon Digital IXUS V3 still camera and edited with ArcSoft VideoImpression V1.7 software. Subsequent video clips were shot with a Canon MVX3i DVC, edited in Windows Movie Maker 2, converted to MPEG-1 in Fx Video Converter, compressed in ArcSoft VideoImpression V1.7. Review notes: Build a PT: 'Build a PT' is a short 40 second animation showing the first steps in building a Pumilio Tiempo 3.5cc RMD. The animation takes us to the point where the bike frame is assembled and then rotates the frame through 90 degrees to show the PT's incredible high-tech laser cut stainless steel frame. The Learning Curve: 'The Learning Curve' is a short 32 second video clip of a practice session with the Pumilio Tiempo in my favorite parking lot in Dubai. The PT was fitted with training wheels during the practice session. On the day of the practice session the local driving school was out in full force and too many student drivers 'sharing' the parking lot made for nervous biking, so much so that we crashed the bike at high speed and bent the front 'fork'. A replacement front fork was quickly obtained from Pumilio Design. Pumilio Tiempo Parking Lot Fun: A short video clip showing the Pumilio Tiempo running in a Dubai parking lot. For the run, the PT was fitted with homemade crash bars. No high speed stuff here, the parking lot isn't big enough to really 'let er rip', or more to the point I'm not that good a driver yet! Pumilio Tiempo Story: A short collection of video clips and photos illustrating the Pumilio Tiempo. RG1 The Movie - Part 1: 'RG1 The Movie - Part 1' is a short 49 second video clip of a the first run with the Gregori RG1 in a small parking lot in Dubai. The RG1 was fitted with homemade 'safety wheels' during the first run. The safety wheels were designed to contact the ground when the bike is at maximum lean angle, i.e., just at the point where you'd 'lose it'! Why bother with safety wheels? Good question. Not being a skilled rc motorcyclist I figured the safety wheel system would save the bike from the usual learning curve scratches and scrapes. When I'm skilled I plan to run with the standard wire crash bars. The video clip shows the RG1 starting system and first 'wobbly' run. Since the parking lot was very small and high curbs were all around the place we didn't get up to any speed. We'll run in our usual huge parking lot and make more video clips for Part 2. RG1 The Movie - Part 2: 'RG1 The Movie - Part 2' is a short 75 second video clip of the second run with the Gregori RG1 in a large parking lot in Dubai. This time the RG1 was run with the seat / tank lexan molding in place .... for the 'Ducati Monster look.' The RG1 was again fitted with homemade 'safety wheels' during the run (for the 'wimp out look'). RG1 42C Run: 'RG1 42C Run' is a short 81 second video clip of the third run with the Gregori RG1 in a large parking lot in Dubai. Why 42C Run? It was 42 degrees Celsius, we could only stand 30 minutes out there! Again the RG1 was run with the lexan seat / tank molding in place .... for the 'Ducati Monster look.' Still running with the with homemade 'safety wheels'. RG1 Crash Day: 'RG1 Crash day' is a 2 minute video clip of the fourth run with the Gregori RG1 in a large parking lot in Dubai. No serious damage! RG1 Sans Training Wheels: 'RG1 Sans Training Wheels' is a 1 minute video clip of the fifth run with the Gregori RG1 in a large parking lot in Dubai. On this run we ditched the training wheels and installed the standard wire hoop crash bars, also ran with the fairing on for the first time. No high speed stuff here, just slow cruising and getting comfortable with the crash bars. RG1 Fall '04 Run: 'RG1 Fall '04 Run' is a 2 minute video clip of the Gregori RG1 in a suburban Toronto parking lot. The bike is shown running with the standard wire hoop crash bars. Hardly any throttle was used, we can only guess what the bike goes like when we open her up! Porous Special: A short video clip of this scratch built bike on one of its first runs. The bike handles really well. More Porous Special: Another short video clip of this scratch built bike performing in the street and at the Silver Bowl parking lot. Thunder Tiger: Coming soon. DWA Commando - Race Prep - Germany 1988: Vintage 1988 movie clip of 1/4 scale bike race preparations 'back in the day'. Video files kindly provided by DWA enthusiast Erik Holm. Rolando Tradii's DWA Commando - Italy 2006: A short clip of Rolando running his vintage DWA. 'Exstreme' Nitro Ricky: Energy filled clip of Daniele Zanellato's Ricky Nitro ... someplace in Italy! Thanks Daniele, keep up the good work!
