November 7/2004: Ninth Run
(Fourth Toronto Run): Ambient temp +14C, RH 53%. Bike started easily, ran
extremely well. Electronically re-set the throttle trim to -54, bike idled well
at this setting. Ran bike at Centennial College Campus lower parking lot. Total
of 4 runs (38 minutes). Practiced braking into corners (to achieve tight turns)
and powering out. Great runs. Made video clips. Repaired fairing
(Team Associated clear chassis protective film) performed well. Rear
fairing extension prevented the fuel tank low point touching the road surface
while cornering.

October 23/2004: Eighth Run:
(Third Toronto Run): Ambient temp +12C, RH 78%. Bike started easily
and ran very well. Electronically re-set the throttle trim to -45, the bike
idled great at this setting. Ran the bike at Centennial College Campus lower
parking lot. Parking lot surface mixture of slopes and some flat sections. Total
of 3 runs (35 minutes). Rough surface / cornering technique / wore a small hole
in LHS of fairing (patch up with 'Team Associated' clear chassis protective
sheet).

October 11/2004: Seventh Run
(Second Toronto Run): Ambient temp +10C, RH 70%. Bike started easily
and ran well. Need to electronically 'back off' the throttle trim (will try
-35). Ran the bike at Centennial College Campus parking lot. Parking lot surface
mixture of slopes and some flat sections. Run stopped due to hitting debris,
bike flipped several times (captured on video) but engine continued to run.
Damage included twisted rear frame extensions and cracked lexan fairing. Rear
frame sections easily straightened, lexan fairing repaired with Shoe Goo.

September 18/2004: Sixth Run (First
Toronto Run): Ambient temp +19C. Ran with Blue Thunder Race Formula
20% nitro. Bike started easily despite change in fuel and no change in
carburetor settings. Bumpy run on uneven surface, flipped the bike but
sustained no damage. 19C conditions were ideal after all those hot desert
runs in Dubai. Bike is a great piece of model engineering, well worth the
money.

August 3/04: Fifth Run:
Ambient temp +40C. Bike started easily and ran well. Continued with same
throttle trim set up as July 22. Buzzed around the parking lot but this
time we ditched the training wheels and ran with the standard wire crash bars.
This was also our first run with the fairing installed. Bike is a lot of
fun. Made video clips but had to stop the camera after only a minute or so
due to a camera condensation warning. We're in the desert here, but the
Gulf is super humid in the Summer. We must be nuts running bikes in
these oppressive ambient conditions, the heat is OK for the bike but it's killer
for the crew!

July 23/2004: Fourth Run.
Ambient temp still +42C. Pre-run pressurized the fuel
tank. Throttle trim -30. Same starting procedure as July 22. Bike started easily
and ran well. More buzzing around the parking lot with homemade training wheels
on. Flipped the bike on a straight section, not sure what happened, theory is
the RHS training wheel dislocated and the bike 'dug in' causing it to flip
several times. Damage all easily fixed. Made video clips. Too hot really to
be out there running bikes.

July 22/2004: Third Run.
Ambient temp +42C. Pre-run pressurized the fuel tank. Throttle trim -30. New
starting device switch much smoother than the old one. Remembered to use
JR Racing R1 transmitter idle up function to start, what a great feature! Bike
started easily and ran well. Recent brake adjustments now almost perfect. Buzzed
around parking lot with homemade training wheels on. Made video clips.
Lots of fun but hot like Hell out there.

April 15/2004: Second Run.
Ambient temp +31C. Pre-run pressurized the fuel tank. Starting device
switch broke. Hot wired to start. Bike started easily after glow plug screwed
out slightly (to reduce compression on tight engine). Crown wheel gear almost
touches starter motor, need to adjust the starting wheel further away from the
motor and move the motor backwards in the starting device to compensate. Bike
ran really well, safety wheels very effective. Brakes need adjustment as almost
no braking (electronic adjustments on JR R1 radio). This bike is a lot
of fun! Made short video clips.

January 9/2004: The First Run. Programmed JR Racing R1
transmitter 'idle up' to +30. Bike started easily. Ran the bike
without bodywork and I managed to make a
few turns with it within the confines of a small parking lot. Unable to get up
speed because the lot was too small and I didn't want to hit a curb. Homemade
safety
wheels worked well. Brakes worked well. Lost a screw out of the steering head but was lucky enough
to find it. I'll Loctite the screw to prevent it coming loose again. Made some
short video clips. Really
pleased with the bike and the JR Racing R1 transmitter. Now all I need to do
is get the bike to the usual favorite Dubai parking lot. Unfortunately due to
extended business travel this won't happen until the first week of April.

January 8/2004: Re-glued tire to
starting wheel. Glow igniter battery ran flat. Managed to get the engine to turn
over, it is very stiff. Wore out the starting wheel tire, glued another one on
and another one on top of that (to increase starting wheel diameter). Couldn't
get fuel through to the carburetor, glow igniter battery ran flat again.

January 7/2004: Attempted the first run
in our favorite Dubai parking lot. Bit of bad luck, the rubber tire came unglued
from the starting wheel and I didn't have any CA glue in my toolbox to make a
quick 'field repair'.

January 5/04: Painted the RG1 in
Italian red, made/installed some Ducati stickers to complete the illusion!

January 4/2004: Started the RG1 for the
first time and ran the engine in for 1/2 an hour. This bike is going to be
great! The JR Racing R1 programmable transmitter is handy for fine tuning the
disc brake settings.

December 31/04: Finished & installed
the homemade 'safety wheels' (45 mm model airplane wheels/aluminum bracket
arrangement clamped to the side of the bike). Safety wheels designed to contact
the ground when the bike is at maximum lean angle.

October 26/2003: Installed JR Racing
digital servos and receiver, installed battery, installed Lexan seat/tank cover
and fairing. Bike ready for Italian red paint scheme.
