John's Drag Bike

1/8 scale scratch built drag bike

John McRae, an enthusiast of full size drag bikes, built this 1/8 scale bike from scratch. It's 17" long and is powered by a Traxxas trx .15.

John made the body on a home made vacuum forming bench. The wide rear tire was made by gluing two foam tires together, the chain and sprockets were obtained from John's local industrial supply store. The front wheel is temporary until John can machine a nicer looking aluminum one. John says the bike handles well and doesn't need training wheels, although it could use more engine!

For his next project, John is planning to build something a little bigger, maybe 1/4 or 1/3rd scale.
